Making a business plan operational is exceptionally challenging, especially in a soft insurance market and volatile macroeconomic environment. It didn't look good on the crowded elevator ride up to the ninth floor at City Place II Thursday, given the shoulder-to-shoulder sea of dark suits and corporate quiet.
But once the doors opened, the din began signaling "party time," courtesy of partners George "Geo" Estes, Dawne Ware and Kevin Costello, who were celebrating their new insurance company, Sparta, and its tony new digs in Hartford.
